Vision
A world where OIC narratives are understood through creative and globally respected storytelling.
Menara is a global home for storytellers building craft, community and voice across the member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which is the second largest intergovernmental organisation after the United Nations, with 57 member states spanning the Middle East, Africa, Asia and beyond.
A world where OIC narratives are understood through creative and globally respected storytelling.
To ensure OIC countries can speak for themselves and participate in the global narrative on equal terms.
To connect and equip communications professionals with the skills, networks and tools needed to shape credible and impactful stories across borders.
We promote communication that is accurate, responsible and grounded in ethical practice.
We encourage original thinking and innovative approaches to storytelling across cultures and platforms.
We bring people together across regions, sectors and disciplines to learn, share and build collectively.
We welcome diverse voices and perspectives from within and beyond OIC member states.
Founded by the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), it exists to support storytellers around the world because we believe in the power of story to bring us closer together.
Launching in the UK reflects the role London continues to play as a global hub for media, culture and communications, connecting ideas, talent and conversations across borders.
Menara is open to professionals in OIC countries and beyond, including non-Muslims working within OIC societies, Muslims based in non-OIC countries, diaspora communities and global partners.
